Well, I’m 15 weeks old as of tomorrow. Time seems to be flying by! I hope my future parents realize this and get a move on to setting up a pretty sweet bed for me. (A DRY one will be nice). All I do now is float around in amniotic fluid! Not only do I float around in fluid, I’m now starting to breathe it in…let’s talk about me for a bit:

I’m probably the size of an apple or an orange… 4 in-4 1/2 in. I am getting huge! (At least the warden thinks this is big). My legs are now getting longer than my arms and all of my joints are now fully functional. I am so about to get into full ninja-mode up in here! My eyes still don’t open but if you shine a light on the outside, I should react to it. My skin is paper thin and has tiny little hairs all over it…just when I thought I was looking ‘more human’. It even has a name…’lanugo’. Whatever. But, that should all be gone by the time I make my grand entrance and I should be as ‘smooth as a baby’s bottom’… Haha…I crack myself up sometimes! I’m developing taste buds and scalp patterns, but I’m still bald on top. (sexy mental picture, I know).

The warden just keeps expanding. (At least that’s what I HEAR…quit the complaining lady!). But, from what I gather she’s still trying to keep it healthy and get her crossfit on so she can bring it all back together when I quit taking over her body. I’m poking out a little now in the front so she’s starting to actually look a little prego. I keep practicing some acrobatics but she’s not sure if she’s feeling it or not. Like I mentioned earlier, full ninja is coming soon so maybe in my next report she’ll feel me. She did hear my heartbeat Monday and everything is good…*smile.

On a more interesting note, the folks are going back to the other doc that was poking at me last time (bastard) in two weeks so I have some time to figure out those hand gestures I told you guys about last time. This time he’s gonna see what I got going on ‘down there’. I can’t see anything yet (hello fused-shut eyes), but I’m sure it’s pretty amazing since it’s such a big deal. The warden is counting down the days. I guess my next email will be pretty interesting!

10 Weeks (12/7/11)

Hello dad and future family, it’s BN.  :)

Well, once tomorrow comes around I will have been in here 10 weeks.  I’m a little more than an inch long, like a prune or a kumquat.  Weird huh?  The internet likes to compare me to fruit!  

I’m getting some little fingernails and maybe even a little peach fuzz hair on my head.  Inside my mouth there are some little teeth buds forming under my gums.  My limbs can bend now preparing me for future gymnastics moves in mom’s belly.  Can’t wait to kick a rib!  J/k.  

Mom’s doing ok…tired, cold, and nibbly…hey, I need nutrients!  I’m growing like crazy up in here! I hear she hates wearing her jeans now…oops, my bad lady.  

Well, that’s about it for now, I’ll send some updates here and there bc there ain’t that much to do in here except grow…*sigh*.  

Maybe next time you hear from me I’ll actually be a fetus.  Lookin forward to that.

12 Weeks (12/21/11)

My my my….time is flying!  So, here is your new update on little adorable ME.  :)

So, as of tomorrow I will have been in here 12 weeks.  Some dude was probing around my space today trying to check me out I guess.  Well, I wasnt cooperating very well!  It’s been pretty sweet in here so I was practicing some acrobatic skills for him to just let me go back to hanging out and doing what I’ve been doing which is a whole lotta growing!  I did give a little ‘shout out’ wave to my parents at one point which I think I heard a ‘whoa’ out there so I guess they got the message.  (If I only knew of another hand gesture for that dude who kept swishing me around…..mom didn’t like when he wiggled that machine on her belly).  

So, back to me and then a little more on my warden.  
I am 2 1/2 inches long (like a big plum).  My ‘play area’ is about the size of a softball.  Since my last update I lost a tail and my fingers and toes are no longer webbed.  Looking a little more human now!  Whew!  I was starting to wonder!  Haha.  All of my face parts are moving to their correct places now so I’m sure I’m getting better looking every day.  Too bad I don’t have a mirror in here.

I also can’t tell what’s going on ‘down there’ yet (not like I can SEE anything) but they said 5 weeks from now we’ll be able to report seeing ‘something’ or ‘not something’.  

Other developments:
I’m breathing in fluid but don’t worry, I’m just trying to strengthen my lungs.  My vocal cords are also developing.  I can cry without noise now, but I have a lot of screaming in my future…heheheee.
I can react to noise…and I think we have a large animal in the house.  He can be my future horsey.  
I’m also using my digestive system…not to be too gross here, but that means I am also producing waste.  I think I’ll take after my dad.  :)

On to the warden:  mom is feeling good, but still tired a lot and lately has had some pretty harsh mood swings.  Dad takes the time to talk to her about them and just stares at her and smiles while she’s releasing some emotions.  Poor dude (smh).
I am happy to report (although she wouldn’t be) that her pants aren’t exactly working out for her any more.   (I wasn’t digging a tight waist).  Luckily aunt Steph gave her a good tip about a pony tail holder so mom’s way more comfy now for work and not worrying about popping a button.  Bc that would be total embarrassment.  

Well, that’s it for now.  I’ll keep in touch…ain’t much else to do.  :)

Also, a few quick administrative details, I’ve left the links at the top for the time being. You can still read “About Us,” and the “Registry Info” is still there as it will likely be needed between now and July 4th, but I wasn’t really sure what to do with our “Guest Book.” Everything in there is wedding related, and now we’ve kind of moved on to a new chapter. Should I leave them?? Should I delete all of them for a new batch of comments?? Am I overthinking this?? Feel free to voice your opinons on these matters, and any other opinions you may have while you’re at it.  Welcome back.

The plan is to keep this little blog going. Obviously its not a wedding blog anymore, so it is undergoing a little bit of a cosmetic overhaul (I did leave the registry tab up…just in case ), but nonetheless it will live on to tell the tail of Lesli and I as newlyweds and just our goofy life in general. So please stop by now and then, or even subscribe over there in the right margin if you’d like to know anytime we post anything.

Loads of pictures will be coming soon. Rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception, honeymoon, and everything in between. So keep your eyes peeled.

Also, since our last posting, Lesli and I have been treated to a couple of wedding showers.  First we had a shower in Rayne, Louisiana  at Lesli’s grandmother’s house.  This shower was nice because it was the first opportunity for a lot of our family to meet each other.  Then, earlier this month, we were given a shower here in Dallas at The Quarter Bar.  It had a Mardi Gras theme complete with beads for everyone, and most importantly, real deal Gambino’s King Cakes.  We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to either of these showers in any way.

I think we’ve had our engagement announcement appear in about 4 different newpapers, and sometimes more than once in those papers, so here is one of them…from which paper I’m not even sure.
